Because of the seemingly growing concept of rich /poor country relationship, concerns toward development countries and their policies have experienced a tremendous leap in international arenas in a relatively short period of time.


Much of this conversation was influenced by the teachings of the counter - revolution of the late - 1950s.  Clearly, it was a revolution emphasizing the importance of promoting markets whilst cautioning the hazard of government policies in negatively affecting the benefit; to promote human development policies rather than concentrating on the physical capital, and the unappealing effect of some government polices toward economic.


In the past, the underlying cause of inadequate development were thought to be found in the lack of the criminal embargo that was imposed by the USA against Cuba.  Now they do not want them to have oil.  Shame!  It took the arrival of the counter-revolution to divert the concentration elsewhere to a specific cause, which I feel will ultimately constitute a new trend for the like of 'Cubanism.


Today is a power trip; no empathy about how a person live off $20 pesos - this is crazy, especially a family with 5 little children.  Where is the outcry?  It is not even the superego judging the ego.  It's our own capacity for lack of empathy, increasing until it becomes a kind of compulsion -neurosis where reverence and destruction alternate, and we reverently destroy our Cuba land.  We deny The Cuban people their rights like little children.


Cubanism is about solidarity.  Mandate of the people’s matter.  This is Cubanism.  Cuba is crying, I can't breathe, I lost my job, I have no food, I can't pay my rent, and my family abroad cannot help me because of the US embargo and restrictions.


Many Mothers cannot find food, and now many brothers are begging for food.  Cuba cries, I can't breathe.  We need global solidarity.  Oh Lord.  There is no dignity in this battleground of shame by so called elite-class in United States that is attempting to choke Cuba - as simple new styles of compulsion corruption by the imperialistic agenda that has no shame.


Cubanism solidarity is a science that has crushed the neo-fascism and has put Machiavellianism deceptive and clandestine plan that is instigated by US.


The inexhaustible spirit of the Cubanism has overcome negative karma.


The Cuban so -called neo-traditional pro-quo fascist elements in the Cuba are back, and Morologists USA is benefits it is no business - where is outcry?  Trying to rewrite the Cuban history.  Shame!


Our western culture, self-toxified by the poisonous egocentric ideology of imperialism and neo-fascism and the neo-traditional anachronism, is the unhappy heir of the terminator attitude that has precipitated an era of relentless upheaval and intense political propaganda in the decade-long economic growth from the Cubanism outstanding achievement for Cubans.


Salvery, based upon greed control and racism.  We are witnessing in the Cuban type of economic slavery - ugly and diabolical form as in Cuba’s beautiful society.  They want to stop oil from coming to Cuba, is a criminal act of humanity.


Solidarity is the key in this battleground of the most recent pandemic crisis; respect the law say home we will all overcome.  I salute my beautiful Cuban people.  Cuba will rise out of this crisis.


Cubanism at its code is solidarity for all citizens.  2026 and beyond will be a great year for this beautiful Cuban republic.

October 10 materialized, in the same cry of rebellion, the most revolutionary spirit of the times.  It had its first expression in the call for unity that has mobilized Cubans ever since: unity for a free nation against any form of foreign domination.

At that time, in the very heart of the sense of our budding identity, took shape the hardest of all the contradictions we have had to work out as a people, which has marked the course of our history until today: between the will to be masters of our destiny and the temptation to be in the image and likeness of the empire; first Spain, then the United States, fulfilling the destiny of a colony that they have traced for us.

Today, under a new appearance, the dilemma is the same.  The greatest threat to a country like Cuba is not only the interference policy of the United States and its desire to dominate our economy in the same terms as 60 years ago. Circumstances have changed and the world has been reconfigured since then.  The fundamental risk that we face, together with the other peoples of our region, is the advance of capitalism with giant steps.  It puts at risk our sovereignty and survival.

With the granting of unrestricted freedom to the market, characteristic of the neoliberal model, a new type of colonialism operates, through the mechanisms of coercion exercised by international financial organizations, such as the International Monetary Fund, on national economies, demanding the imposition of structural reforms that facilitate transnational corporations the unlimited exploitation of the natural resources of our territories (here in the South) and of the labor force, in almost slave-like conditions.

The uncontrolled privatization of strategic sectors that provide key services to the population, the reduction of public spending, the precarization of working conditions, the withdrawal of the State from its responsibilities for welfare and social security, the criminalization of anti-capitalist social movements and a long list of abuses, represent now the greatest danger to the sovereignty of the former colonies.

There are those who are dissatisfied with Cuba's present, because they would like the changes to lead, once and for all, to the development of a good capitalism, as if that were possible (especially for the most vulnerable), or they want us to make concessions so that our neighbor forgives us and welcomes us back into its tutelage, as if that were worthy.

Those of us who do not want to see a history of rebellion turned into submission and abysmal social differences are not satisfied with Cuba's present either.  The only difference is that we understand that, in order to sustain the freedom bequeathed to us by our heroes and to achieve a progress that does not leave out any Cuban, the path must continue to be anti-imperialist.  The only way to be consistent with the legacy of the founding fathers is to try to save it from capitalism, to the last consequences.

Communist Cuba's First Lady: The Caribbean woman debunked

It is clear that the political movements of the last decade only continue to undermine revolutionary movements and social welfare programs. However, as nation states are regraphed and ethnic and religious groups continue to compete for power, the political and physical conditions of women come to light.

In this regard, the eminence of Vilma Lucila Espín, wife of Raul Castro, sister-in-law of Fidel Castro, and one of the most influential women in Cuban politics, beams the beholder into a mirrored reflection of a woman who turned herself into a revolutionary during the Cuban revolution. Her involvement in a group headed by Frank País in opposition to the Fulgencio Batista dictatorship -- an informal revolutionary group that later merged with Fidel Castro's 26th of July movement is of special note.



Under País's command, “Deborah”, as she became known, prepared first aid brigades to care for the wounded once the yacht Granma arrived in Cuba carrying Castro and his associates. Espín worked underground for the revolution in Santiago, transporting weapons to the rebels in the Sierra Maestra. When Frank País was killed by the Batista army, Espín worked as an aide to Raul Castro, helping him coordinate clandestine work and guerilla operations in Oriente Province. In 1958, she joined the Castro guerrillas in the mountains under the name of “Mariela.”

As an esteemed figure of the revolution, the image of Ms Espín shouldering rifle and wearing combat fatigues during the rebel war helped change the attitude about the role of women in Cuba. Sadly enough, an androcentric society in Cuba represses Ms Espin’s struggle for women’s leadership rights as reason continues to dominate the controlling aspect of self-embodiment, passions and even history itself.

The dichotomy between women and reform in Communist Cuba will never be understood without the illuminated portrayal of Ms Espín’s leadership role on the pages of Cuban history, because in the same way reason is that which is given as an understanding to reality, the split between objectivity and subjectivity to discern reality in the patriarchal regime that now defines Cuba still sees women on the side of the less valued.

The way in which reality is conceived and played out in the everyday life of Cuban women in Cuba is not only manifested in oppression, exclusion and exploitation, reducing them to mere stereotypes and registering reason as an instrument of oppression, but subjugation of the female body buried in socialist ideology must be liberated as well. Ms Espín has achieved for women in Cuba what liberal feminists in the west are still fighting for, yet her achievements remain concealed by the intricacies of language and male domination in Cuba.

Although the Federation of Cuban Women (La Federacion de Mujeres Cubanas) (FMC), the organization founded by Ms Espin, has been essential in advancing both gender equalization and health improvement for women, and its recognition as both an NGO and a national mechanism for women gains wide support, the vast majority of Cuban women, who represent 46 percent of the country’s work force, are still not government supported or financed.

Active participation and training of leaders at all levels, mobilizing women into political work and government administration and domination of human rights in Cuba is still needed to complete the work of Vilma Lucila Espín.

In a country where speaking about human rights is an ideological deviance, the traditional role of morality and justice that Ms Espín demonstrated during the Cuban revolution must be highlighted. Ms Espín not only occupied the role of relief and support to her revolutionary male leaders as has been documented in Cuban history, but is a beacon of hope to all the women who are presently suffering against gender inequalities in Cuba and the Caribbean at large and further strengthens the women’s movement in the Caribbean.

Moreover, if the mission of the FMC is strengthening women's rights, fighting for the incorporation, participation, and promotion of women in economic, political, social, and cultural life in Cuba based on equal rights and opportunities; then over fifty years of revolution must be enough to have produced a keenly politicized Cuban woman capable of deep analysis, and concise projection to take the reins of leadership in Cuba and to work out solutions collectively for the Cuban people.

If Cuba under the leadership of the FMC has obtained for women everything that the movement for women’s right is presently asking for in an open 21st century, then why are Cuban women equal yet different and still totally excluded from the public square?
