Here is what should emerge from the meeting of Governments in the Caribbean with the King:
Driven in part by the historical wrongs wrought against our people in the Caribbean, we have set a bold agenda to eclipse the United Kingdom in every meaningful metric - economic prosperity, human development, education, etc. - within the next 50 years. To achieve that objective will require an unprecedented level of cooperation and extraordinary governance by our individual governments.
We have agreed to form a working group that we expect to be comprised of some of the greatest minds and strategic thinkers from our countries. This 50 year initiative is being called: Caribbean 2077: From Historical Injustice to Global Excellence.
The above is how we should teach our children to handle maltreatment. Never waste an opportunity to be motivated by and to grow from a wrong especially those that are set in history. Don't extend both or either of our hands out for help from others. Instead, put them to their fullest use.
